The Fighting Lady is a 1944 documentary film directed by Edward Steichen, produced by the U.S. Navy and narrated by Lt. Robert Taylor USNR. This documentary won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 17th Academy Awards. The film was preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2018.

The video was sourced from YouTube and then broken down scene by scene. It was stabilized, some colour correction was applied (some clips were too far gone to completely fix without access to the original film) and denoised to remove most of the dust and film scratches, and restored to the original Academy aspect ratio. It was then upscaled to 60 frames-per-second.

The stabilization brought out more detail from a lot of the handheld clips, like the aerial views of the IJN, now you can see the muzzle flashes from the guns.
