Actually, this is called bubble deck technology, where lightweight plastic balls are placed in the center of an iron mesh and then filled with concrete mortar.
This results in using less concrete mortar, which results in a lighter roof.
And because the roof is lighter, the load on the foundation is reduced.
However, roofs made with this technology are just as strong as regular roofs.
