This is the true story of Bernadette, a simple French peasant girl who claimed to have seen a vision of the Virgin Mary. After the sighting becomes well-known, thousands of people flock to the grotto at Lourdes, believing in the healing powers of the waters. Despite controversy surrounding her, Bernadette is ultimately elevated to sainthood by the Vatican.
