Block Light for Better Macro Photos

In this macro shot of a wood knot I call “Bugle”, I used flexible LED lights—but the real breakthrough came when I blocked part of that light.

Sometimes in macro photography, removing light is more powerful than adding it.
It helps shape the subject, add contrast, and direct the viewer’s attention.

(And yes… I had to sneak in a Bugle chip overlay—because once you see it, you can’t unsee it.)
