"The Night we Met ''- this song reeled us in with the very first opening line… “I am not the only traveler who has not repaid his debts”. What a relatable line! After traveling as a touring musician for 15 years, one realizes how many people have helped keep us afloat along the road. Opened their doors for us to take a few hours of needed sleep in some warm beds. Lent a hand schlepping instruments or driving vans or rubbing shoulders. Travelers know the sort of grace it takes to put oneself out into new territory where you know no familiar spaces. Sometimes it's rugged. Sometimes it's sheer grace you run into. But each of us know we have debts to pay to the kindness that has brought us this far.
