This 3D animation was developed for Summa Therapeutics' Finesse BTK Multicath, a game-changing catheter that allows exchangeless angiography and angioplasty while over-the-wire. The medical device technology is designed to make complex peripheral arterial surgical procedures faster and easier to perform. The multitool catheter can be used to select, cross, and dilate arterial lesions, and includes exit ports for injecting radiopaque contrast material or other fluids.

Summa pioneered multifunctional catheters for use during peripheral arterial interventional procedures. Featuring ultra-low tip profiles, on-the-fly fluid injection capability, and high performance angioplasty balloons, and are injection-ready at all times even while over the wire. They serve as diagnostic, crossing, and angioplasty balloon catheters all in one. It is used to treat catheter-based interventional procedures in below the knee (BTK) arteries that can be limb-saving for patients at risk of amputation due to peripheral arterial disease (PAD). It is estimated that there are more than 150,000 lower extremity amputations in the U.S. each year, most due to circulation problems (PAD).
