The all-new Kia Forte is a compact car with a lot of technology for a price that can get buyers excited. The base model starts at $16,500 with a manual transmission. All other models get a new IVT or intelligent Variable Transmission, otherwise known as a CVT. Usually a disappointment to drive a new car with this technology but in this car it works so well an average driver would never know it isn't a regular automatic. . Powering the Forte is a carried-over 2.0L 4-cylinder with 147hp and 132lb.-ft. or torque. Even though this compact Kia Forte sedan is 80mm longer and 20mm wider it has a 17 percent improvement in fuel economy. The cabin is filled with soft-touch materials and in the Canadian market al trims get a heated steering wheel and heated seats. Another nice tough is that all trims come with a leather steering wheel, even on the base manual trim. The base even gets air conditioning. The Kia Forte comes with a standard 8-inch display audio system with standard Apple Carplay and Android Auto. This new Forte, with seating for 5-passengers, has standrad autonomous forward collision warning and lane keep assist on all cars equipped with an automatic transmission. The car with the best features is the EX trim and it is $21,000 and includes LED headlamps and daytime running lights along with a wireless charging pad and 16-inch allow wheels. The Kia Forte might now truelly be a contender to established cars like the Coroll and Civic and certainly the Hyundai Elantra.
