This day in rock, April 10th. In 1956 Leo Fender patents the Fender Stratocaster, the successor to his Telecaster, becoming one of the most iconic guitars. 1973. Led Zeppelin's album Houses Of The Holy is certified Gold. In 1976 "Frampton Comes Alive!" is the number 1 album in the US. Iron Maiden's third album, "Number Of The Beast," enters the U.K. chart at number 1 in 1982. 1989, The Cult releases their fourth album Sonic Temple which peaks at number 10 on the US chart. In 2021 "Waiting On A War" by the Foo Fighters is number 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.
