SPRINTER VAN BUILD EPISODE 6:
Hi, we’re Brianne and Ben, with our two dogs Bella & Bucky - (Four B) with the newest addition to our family, our girl BRAVE 🚐
On this episode of our Van Build Series we tackled something we had been procrastinating......CUTTING not one but TWO big holes in our Van roof! ✂️
Watch and Follow along as we show you the process of installing our two Maxx Fans on the toof of the van.
MATERIAL’S USED:
• MaxxFan Deluxe 7500K with Remote
Color - Smoke
We purchased 2 of these (exactly the same)
It is the only complete RV ventilation system that incorporates a vent, fan and rain shield in a single all in one unit.
• Butyl Sealing Tape
This is a leak proof putty tape that installs without gaps and can reliably shut off moisture, vapor, corrosive chemicals and other leakages. We purchased 2 boxes of this tape and used a roll and a half. Each box came with a 30’ roll. We applied this and layered it directly to the roof of the van around the area we cut.
• Dicor Lap Sealant
This Lap Sealant creates a secure, secondary seal along our van roof’s edge as well as over our screws. It adheres firmly to aluminum, mortar, wood, vinyl, galvanized metal, fiberglass and concrete. We purchased 2 tubes and used 1 and a half of them.
• Krylon Under Coating Automotive Flat Black Surface Protector Spray Paint
This offers impact, moisture and corrosion resistance in a paintable, durable rubberized formulation. We purchased 1 can of this and only used about half of it. We applied this to the edge of the metal we cut to make the hole for the fan. Prior to applying it we filed the edge down.
