Dutch PM Mark Rutte became the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s (NATO) next chief on June 26 as the war in Ukraine rages on its doorstep. NATO released a statement stating, "The North Atlantic Council decided to appoint Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as the next Secretary General of NATO, succeeding Jens Stoltenberg."
