An old tailor lived in a small village. He stitched beautiful clothes and sold them at fair prices.

One day, a poor man from the village came to him and said,
"You earn good money from your work, so why don’t you help the poor?
Look at the village butcher—he doesn’t have much, yet he gives out free meat to the needy every day."

The tailor didn’t respond. He simply smiled.

The poor man left angry and spread rumors in the village that the tailor was rich but stingy.
Soon, the villagers turned against him.

Days passed, and the old tailor became ill.
No one cared.
He died alone.

Some time later, the butcher stopped giving out free meat.
When the villagers asked him why, he said:
"The old tailor used to give me money every month to buy meat for the poor. Since he died, that support stopped."
