I wanted to create something for a night drive through the LA canyons, and I always end up thinking of Tangerine Dream synthwave for that type of film scene. I am creating a lot of shifting textures by combining eurorack pulses with arpeggios from the ARP-2600, pads from the OB-6 module, a pulsing bass from the Moog Grandmother, and a beat from the DSI Tempest drum machine. I am using a melodic line from the Buchla 208c Easel Command, a synth a would normally use for rhythmic and arpeggiated stuff, but it can quite an interesting melodic tool because the timbre can be constantly changing underneath held pitches.

Patch Notes:
ARP-2600: Oscillator 1 sawtooth, Oscillator 2 sine wave, Oscillator 3 sawtooth, tons of reverb. I'm changing the timbre by changing the volume sliders of each oscillator. Oscillator 1 and 3 are slightly detuned, which creates some phase cancellation when they are the dominate voices.

Moog Grandmother:
I created a 3 voice synthwave by changing the modulation oscillator to a ramp wave, and then patching it into the normalled input for noise on the mixer. Oscillator 1 is tuned down an octave.

Buchla 208c Easel Command:
Controlled by Make Noise 0-ctrl touch controller (standing in for a 218), audio to Make Noise Erbeverb, 4ms Tapographic Delay, X-Pan (controlled by Intellijel Quadrax), Boss RC-5 looper pedal, and Eventide H9
Sequential voltage to pitch
Random voltage to timbre and modulation
Envelope to low pass gates

Tempest drum machine receiving clock over USB and driving the whole system via MIDI.

OB-6 polysaw patch controlled by Novation Bass Station II over MIDI.

Eurorack:
Make Noise René 2 is driving the pulses. Oscillators are Intellijel Dixie II and Random Source Serge NTO. Envelopes are controlled by Mini Mod contour generators. Intellijel Dixie II audio to System 80 Jove filter. VCA is Tangle Quartet. I'm using a Bubblesound VCOb as an LFO to change pulse width modulation on the Dixie and wave shape on the NTO. Audio from both is going to an Echophon and then X-pan.
