The world’s best junior surfers aged 16 and under are about to battle it out for the coveted crown of Rip Curl GromSearch International Champion on the tropical island of Bali.

Young surfing phenoms around the planet competed in national events to see who will secure the coveted few spots for the 2024 International Final. Just eight girls and eight boys made the cut, from regions like the USA, Australia, Indonesia, Europe and South Africa. There are also two international wildcard slots per division, including the #GromSearchOnline winners.

Established in 1999, the iconic Rip Curl GromSearch event is regarded as a breeding ground for future champions of the sport, with World Surfing Champions including Steph Gilmore, Gabriel Medina, Carissa Moore, Tyler Wright and Felipe Toledo; joined by Olympic medalists Caroline Marks, Owen Wright and Jack Robinson as notable former GromSearch competitors. The fact that GromSearch finalists have won the last 17 WSL Women’s World Titles and 5 of the 6 medalists at both of the last two Olympic Games is testament to the legacy of this international event.
