On 3 August 1989, ITN spent the day aboard HMS Resolution, a Polaris nuclear submarine off the coast of Scotland. Cameras recorded something of the rhythms of daily life on the frontline of Britain's system of nuclear deterrence, and Resolution's crew demonstrated firing drills for the cameras.
