1985: Princess Diana in West Berlin

On this day in 1985, Princess Diana visited West Berlin. At Charlottenburg Castle, the Princess of Wales was presented with a specially-made porcelain plate decorated with an edelweiss, Diana's flower of choice. She then visited Wavell Barracks to inspect troops of the Royal Hampshire Regiment, stationed in West Berlin. Diana was Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment.
