did yall hear that popping/cracking sound when he stretched? 😭 anyway mgk stands for Mindful Generous King. 👑 mgk will be doing another free pop-up show in LA on August 15.📝: mgk went on the Today show and did an interview with 'Today with Jenna & Friends.' During this interview, mgk talked about his free pop-up shows and said that he was supposed to announce tour months ago.
"You do these little pop up shows kind of around the country. Talk about that," Jenna Bush Hager said.
"I was bored, and I was like, it'd be cool if we just did a show" mgk said. "We just played a free show in this place called Cellar Dog in the West Village and had 300 fans come through. I'll do a couple more [pop-up shows] next week. I was supposed to announce tour months ago, but I knew the recession was really gnarly. I kind of had this debate where I was... I became I'm very against announcing the tour 'cause I saw every other artist was touring, so I was like, I'ma just hold off and so... I inevitably have to announce a tour because I know that that is like a service to my fans."
"But you're being very thoughtful about it too," Matt Rogers said. "And providing that intimate experience for them is like cool, and people aren't doing that."
So mgk was holding off on announcing the tour, considering the recession and fans’ pockets. mgk hasn't announced the tour yet out of concern for fans' wallets amid the recession.
FYI: During a recent interview with Mikey Piffy (@mikeypiff) on Sirius XM Hits 1 (@siriusxmhits1), mgk said that he feels bad asking too much from fans. mgk said, "I'm just trying to take it easy on people's pockets right now. I think I just watched everyone announce all these tours and do all these tours. I had planned on it happening sooner, and I was just kind of late to the party in gathering all my thoughts on how to build the world of this album with announcing a tour, and at this point, I don't want to be like, 'Hey, buy my album, buy my merch.' I'm conscious of the kind of the recession that everyone's in, and I will announce a world tour soon. I just want to... I was just being considerate. I didn't want... I was just mindful and didn't want to be over asking of my fans. I have a relationship with them that I feel very close to them, and I'm conscious of the position a lot of them are in, which is, like, hard working people who do make investments and what we do. I feel bad asking too much."
