Baseera Khan is a New York-based artist whose practice investigates desire, surveillance, and subjectivity through the lens of their own body. By assembling references from ancient Middle Eastern cultures found in museums and archaeological libraries, Khan injects life into the archives and treats decolonial histories and practices as geographies of the future.

Khan was a PW Visual Arts Resident in 2019. She has also completed an artist-in-residence program at Abrons Art Center, was an International Travel Fellow to Jerusalem/Ramallah through Apexart, a Process Space artist-in-residence for Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She is published in Artforum Magazine, Art in America, Bomb Magazine, OSMOSMagazine, Unbag, and TDR Drama Review. She received an M.F.A. at Cornell University and B.F.A. from the University of North Texas.
