What is the definition of true pride? Good self esteem. That goes for white pride, black pride, brown pride, gay pride, Muslim pride. And what is self esteem? True pride.Then, what is false pride? Narcissistic disorders - pride for no reason, or pride where there should be guilt and shame.
The difficult task: to recognize when one is proud for no reason - like when one is proud of a history of violence. Often one hides feelings of guilt and shame.
We've all heard: pride comes before the fall. We also know history, like the horrors coming from belief in white superiority. Then there is the violence of the Christian Crusades, which came as a response to the violence of massive Muslim invasions. So, should we be proud to be white, to be of European origin, to be Christian, to be Muslim?
