The video is about veterans of the war in Donbass. I edited an earlier version of this video sometime after work in 2018 when I was in a shitty mood and didn't feel like doing shit. It didn't become a YouTube hit, and my channel was eventually deleted, but some veteran groups about military-themed videos picked it up. I used different clips shot by journalists or volunteers during the battles in Debaltsevo, Ilovaisk, Donetsk and combined them into a single collective story about everyday life of Ukrainian military and volunteers during the fiercest battles in Donbass in the summer of 2014. Fierce firefights under unrealistically brutal and aggressive chopping performed by the Abbott brothers and Patrick Lachman. I don't like the way Ukrainian cinema covers the war in Donbass in films like Airport with intellectual soundtracks, philosophical twists, digressions into literature and history. The viewer should see the inhuman conditions and the meat grinder in which those who chose to defend their homeland as their profession found themselves. In the plot there are references to the films ‘Fall of the Black Hawk’ by Ridley Scott or ‘Saving Private Ryan’ by Steven Spielberg, as there were similar moments in those films, which once again confirms the professionalism of Hollywood directors, who are able to show the war through the eyes of soldiers and the fact that any war is the same.
