The Beelink X2 was released way back in 2015 and featured the Allwinner H3 Quad core processor, but it never saw Android Nougat 7.1.2 released and was stuck on Android Kitkat. Sunvell have released this box with a H3 SOC with Android Nougat, so what is going on ?

The allwinner H3 SOC was an attempt at providing low cost TV box devices like the Beelink X2 to provide a 4K experience, even though it did have it limitations.

Since 2015 the Allwinner H3 processor was deemed old and outdated hardware, receiving no android firmware updates. The H3 however did receive some love from the Linux community. Armbian desktops like debian and xenial where kept updated for a number of years.

Sunvell has just released the Sunvell H3 which features this old H3 processor and have managed to price it at a little over £20. Beelink released the X2 with the H3 Allwinner SOC at the same price also.

Sunvell have managed to bring Android 7.1.2 Nougat to the H3 processor and have crammed in a number of cool features.
