An important part of OCD recovery is acknowledging and honoring all the ways you have grown and overcome. We know life can get busy, but we want to remind you to slow down to take the time to celebrate your victories!

What are some victories you have had recently? And remember--don't compare yourself to others. Victories can look different for different people.

Even if you are just starting your journey, the fact that you are here and willing to take steps toward recovery is absolutely worth celebrating! Maybe you finally acknowledged that you have OCD, or maybe you looked up OCD therapists in your area. These are victories!

Maybe you delayed searching a question on the internet that caused you anxiety. This is a victory! For someone else victory could be from choosing to take the freeway to the grocery store and not exiting when feeling anxious. Maybe it was sitting with a taboo intrusive thought instead of trying to push it away.

Maybe you accidentally engaged in a compulsion but then you acknowledged and accepted that you had a moment of slip up. Instead of punishing yourself, maybe you showed yourself compassion and grace. That too is a victory!

These are all victorious moments that deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated! Every step toward recovery is a moment you chose to be brave and face uncertainty, and that is always worthy of celebration!
