WATCH: Celebrate with the Detroit Fire Department as 25 firefighters receive their badges after having completed their year of probation. This completes their firefighter training and they'll now be fully-certified Firefighters. For the first time in the history of the Detroit Fire Department, we have an African American dad/daughter duo. Retired Lieutenant Rodney Brown will proudly pin the badge on his daughter, Janelle Love as a part of today's ceremony, and the two will be available for interviews.
These new firefighters will increase fire safety as well as improve medical response throughout the City of Detroit.
