Southern Utah winds will remain elevated for the next 5 days, this will likely fan the flames of the Monroe Canyon Fire. Within that 5-day spread Sunday looks to be the "least windiest" of them all with gusts to 20-25 mph at times. We're also keeping an eye on the slight chance for dry t-storms today in and around the central mountains, this could also cause a dynamic threat to the fireline. Northern Utah and the Wasatch Front will see dry skies for the weekend, with slight t-storm chances late Saturday afternoon/evening from the West Desert. - Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 8.1.25
