Video Idea:
So Britain controlled the whole Hong Kong as a result of the opium war and a treaty that would grant Britain the ownership of some big islands for 99 years. So As the 99 years treaty ended, Chinese took away the Islands (most of today's Hongkong) and British thought that it was unnecessary to separate these two joint bodies, when it's already thousands of kilometers away and cannot be controlled.
