One of Christopher Luxon's key staff members has quit following a Stuff investigation into allegations he made secret audio recordings during sessions with Wellington sex workers.

Michael Forbes has been acting as the Prime Minister's deputy chief press secretary since February and has this afternoon offered an apology.
