• Marco Dall’Aquila was active mainly in Venice during the early decades of the 16th century.
• In 1505, he received a patent from the Venetian authorities for his own system of printing lute music — one of the earliest privileges of its kind in music history!
• Unfortunately, no copies of his printed works have survived, but we know about them from historical documents.

🎶 2. “La Traditora” – What Does the Title Mean?
• In Italian, “La Traditora” means “the traitress” or “she who betrays”.
• The title suggests emotional drama — perhaps a betrayal in love, or maybe a personal betrayal… or maybe it was just a Renaissance-style poetic metaphor.
• The composition is written in a dance-like style, but with clear contrasts and dramatic tension.
