This video lecture clip from the course RELIGION, ART, AND APOCALYPSE explores the history of Biblical Judaism, including the lives of Biblical patriarchs, the era of the Judges, the creation of the United Monarchy by the legendary King David, and the construction of the Temple by King Solomon. We also discuss the law of Moses, the period of the divided kingdoms, the Babylonian exile, and restoration under Persian rule. The lecture was delivered in the Summer of 2018 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
