D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said during a press conference: "This morning we all share a profound sense of grief."
Washington DC Fire Chief John Donnelly said this is now a recovery operation. They recovered 27 bodies from the plane and one victim from the helicopter.

From American Airlines: American Eagle Flight 5342 en route from Wichita, Kansas (ICT), to Washington, D.C. (DCA) was involved in an accident at DCA. The flight was operated by PSA Airlines with a CRJ-700.
There were 60 passengers and four crew members on board the aircraft. President Trump's National Security Advisor tells FOX News: 'more than 30 bodies have been recovered.'
