In '73, the world in turmoil swirled,
As we, the Boomers, faced an uncertain world.
Amidst the chaos, strife, and fear,
We stood united, hearts sincere.
From Glendora High, we walked the line,
Through Vietnam's shadows, we did or not shine.
Draft cards hung like Damocles' sword,
But still, our hope and dreams soared.
In the land of sunshine, California's embrace,
We found solace, a sacred space.
Glendora's spirit, poetic flame,
Lit our way through the troubled game.
Through those restless nights of yore,
We yearned for something worth fighting for.
Yet, amidst the darkness, we could see,
A future's promise, a world set free.
With passion burning, like Morrison's fire,
We dared to dream, to aim much higher.
For in the midst of turmoil and despair,
Lies the spark of change, a world so fair.
Though jobs were scarce, and rates were high,
We reached for stars up in the sky.
In unity, we found our strength,
A generation that would go to any length.
Now, fifty years since that tempestuous scene,
We look back, our hearts serene.
We've weathered storms, and we've grown wise,
As the world keeps turning 'neath the skies.
So let us remember that time of yore,
When Boomers stood, hearts full of more.
Though chaos reigned in '73,
We found hope for a brighter destiny.
