The Lizzie Creek volcanic arc was a volcanic complex that was active during the Permian, 298 million years ago. Its formation began when the oceanic paleo-pacific tectonic plate subducted beneath the continental Indo-Australian tectonic plate. In present day, valuable minerals that were deposited during subduction exist in the Lizzie Creek volcanic arc. From copper, to gold, to silver, lead and more. This volcanic arc is currently being investigated by mining companies to deduce whether or not the area is rich enough to undertake mining activities.

The Lizzie Creek volcanic arc is one of many ancient volcanic arcs in Australia, and I intend to cover as many as I can.
