Residents along the US Gulf Coast are hunkering down as Hurricane Francine makes landfall.The weather system is expected to bring life-threatening conditions and power outages to parts of Louisiana.
The hurricane made landfall as a Category 2 system and is predicted to lose its strength as it heads towards inland Louisiana.
