Hi people! Yep, after some time thinking about it, I finally decided to make something to call for support on Patreon. But of course, I wouldn't talk to a camera, so this is what happened.
Some time ago, I wasn't 100% comfortable about the idea of asking for help to you guys, but thanks to life learnings (and Amanda Palmer and her amazing perspective on this) I got to a conclusion: art is necessary.
People need music, poetry, stories, as much as they need food or a shelter. We need things that make us feel stuff, that make us think, that make us laugh and cry, that make us feel more bounded to the others. It took me some time to accept this, I always tended to think that what I do was just for fun and wasn't worth enough to ask for something in return. But something changed in my brain over time, now I really feel that what I do has a value for some people, and that's worth enought to ask you guys for some help, I need your help to keep doing stuff for you :)
Also, I used to think that it was better to wait for the stuff to happen and don't rely on "favours", that it wasn't a pure-enough way of making progress. Now this doesn't make sense anymore to me, I think asking for help and relying on others is super healthy and normal, so I feel comfy enough to talk to you guys and ask you this.
SO, if you think art is necessary and want artists to survive while making it, I'd really appreciate if you considered supporting me and joining our little community on Patreon:
Disclaimer: All this is just to make a point, it doesn't mean I don't enjoy working on any paid projects. I worked on stuff that was very fun and I'd probably work on anyway, even if I didn't need the money! Mostly is about priorizing my music and my videos over other projects. If I don't depend economically on paid projects I can arrange their schedule so I can always keep some time to work on the channel :)
Disclaimer 2: In Patreon I charge per creation instead per month. That's cause sometimes I spend months without posting anything, cause I have to work, or cause I'm traveling, and I feel better just charging you people when I'm actually creating content :) If you're worried about me going crazy and creating a lot of stuff suddenly, just wanna let you know that Patreon lets you set a monthly limit, so you can keep control over what you give to artists.
Hope you enjoy this video, remember to use Celtic Toilet Paper and thank you so so much for your support!!
