The Theory of Competitor Orientation from a management perspective is a framework which involves the study of the strategies and tactics developed by competitors in order to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. The theory focuses on understanding the competitive environment, identifying the key competitors and their strategies, and anticipating any potential changes in the industry. By studying competitor behaviour, managers can better understand the market and develop strategies to better position their organization in the marketplace. By anticipating and understanding competitor strategies, organizations can develop their own strategies to capitalize on their competitors’ weaknesses and gain a competitive advantage. The goal of competitor orientation is to identify and understand the competitive environment, anticipate and understand changes in the competitive landscape, and develop strategies to gain a competitive advantage.
