This Juneteenth, New York City Center has partnered with Broadway for Racial Justice to renew our commitment to supporting Black art in all of its joys, victories, and celebrations. It is up to all of us to ensure that Black artists and communities have access to both the fruits of their cultural labor and the resources necessary to continue to revolutionize the soul of our nation.
We hope that the lessons we learn and the peace we find in observing Juneteenth extends well beyond the holiday into all of our practices as artists and people. We charge you to push forward in a divestment from all that seeks to further anti-blackness in our industry, and a radical investment in the future of Black theater workers. Finally, we leave you with this conversation by Brandon, Kayla, Noax, and Sis.
