Just a week ago, on August 14th, WHO Director Dr. Tedros announced that a dangerous virus—Mpox, which had only been infecting one country in Africa—has now become a threat to the entire world.

This deadly Mpox virus, which had a weaker variant that attempted to spread globally in 2022, has recently developed a new strain that is far more powerful and virulent. Estimates suggest that this new variant is at least seven times deadlier than COVID. Is this virus nearing a tipping point, similar to COVID in March 2020?
