He places particular emphasis on the chaos of the album cycle and the troubled waters regarding his split with Kim Kardashian. In his refrain, he calls back to the infamous rollout of his previous album that underwent numerous delays. West recalls the many grueling nights of labor amplified by the pressures of hype, inadvertently straining the relationships with those working closely with him. Transitioning to the chorus, he references his tattered history with the public but also calls out in desperation to the one who once was. It’s worth noting how closely the production elements of this track emulate that of his unfinished and ultimately unreleased album TurboGrafx 16.
