A few weeks ago I made a video about sample & hold, and promised to come back with some ideas for track & hold in another video. Today is that day! I'll explain the difference between sample & hold and track & hold, show how you can patch up a track & hold function, just using a sample & hold, oscillator, and VCA. And then we’ll dive into a series of patches. From using a track & hold to create interesting modulation, to self-generating melodies, and ratcheting drums.
