This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2022 Mazda3 GT compact sedan. We are driving the Mazda3 GT Turbo with 18” black wheels, a black grille, black exterior accents, a chrome lower bumper and larger exhaust outlets. It has a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 6-speed automatic transmission, 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular fuel. You get a bit of a bump in power if you use premium, 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. Standard AWD on the turbo model. There are two other engine options, a 2.5L non-turbo with 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. FWD and AWD options are available and a 2L 4-cylinder with a standard 6-speed manual, available 6-speed automatic transmission. It has 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque, standard FWD. This is the only trim with a manual transmission, the US no longer has a manual option on the sedan, only the hatchback. Some standard features on the Mazda3 include, an 8.8” display with Mazda Connect, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a 7” LCD display, a manual driver and passenger seat, heated front seats, Mazda harmonic acoustics with 8-speakers, LED headlights, LED taillights and a temporary spare tire. Available features on the Mazda3 include a heated steering wheel, leatherette and leather upholstery, a power driver’s seat, driver seat memory, moonroof and a 360 view-monitor.
In Canada, the base Mazda3 trim with the manual transmission starts at $21,400 CAD and the automatic $22,700 CAD. GS FWD $25,400 CAD, AWD $27,400 CAD, GT FWD $31,100 CAD, AWD $33,100 CAD and the GT 2.5 T $35,500 CAD.
In the US, the 2.0 FWD Mazda 3 model starts at $21,150 USD, 2.5 S FWD $22,100 USD,
