There are only a handful of instrumentals as quintessential to grime as Rebound X's 'Rhythm ‘N' Gash'. From JME and Skepta to D Double E, this instrumental has been used by stalwarts of the scene since its early days and has become a true calling card of the genre. Yet, the track itself remains one of the genre's biggest mysteries. Who exactly is Rebound X – and who performed that iconic vocal for a track that helped shape grime as we know it?

Sub_Terrain takes deep dives into pockets of the underground music scene, unearthing the stories and timelines beneath the genres that shape contemporary culture.
