Did you know you can travel from Madrid to Beijing in a perfectly straight line without crossing any major body of water? Let’s break it down!"
Starting in Madrid, Spain, you head north into France, traveling around 900 kilometers through its diverse landscapes. Next, you briefly pass through Switzerland before entering Germany, where you’ll cover another 600 kilometers.
From Germany, you continue into Czechia, crossing roughly 300 kilometers, and then traverse the entire width of Poland, covering nearly 700 kilometers. After that, you enter Belarus for a 600 kilometers long journey,
a country crushed by Russian influence.
Now comes the longest stretch: 5,000 kilometers across Russia’s vast forests and rural landscapes. This part of the trip is not for the faint of heart—winters here can be brutally cold, so summer is your safest bet!
As you leave Russia, you reach the iconic steppes of Mongolia, traveling about 1,500 kilometers through this remote and stunning region. Finally, you enter China, covering the last 700 kilometers before arriving in the heart of Beijing.
The journey spans 10,000 kilometers and takes you through 9 different countries!
While this route may not appear straight on a flat map, viewing it on a globe reveals the truth: a perfectly straight line through three continents!
