The game began as a slugfest with Clear Fork (6-14, 2-11) controlling the glass to keep the game close, trailing 8-10 heading into the second quarter. Solid defense and aggressive pursuit to the offensive glass would see the Colts charge into the halftime locker room on top 31-25 as Grant Spencer poured in a game-high 27 points.
Trailing at the half only lit a fire under Shelby (17-2, 12-1) because they came out of the break on a mission. Led by Alex Bruskotter and Brayden Devito, the Whippets would own the third quarter with a 28-11 run that would continue into the final frame. Clutch shooting and a crazy poster dunk by Issaiah Ramsey would help Shelby close out the victory and a league championship.
Bruskotter (23 pts) and DeVito (17 pts) combined to score 40 points, helping the Whippets claim their fourth consecutive conference title for the first time in program history.
