The 1970s lineup included Dave Brock, Bob Calvert, Lemmy and Stacia.
The band formed as Group X in the summer of 1969. Shortly afterwards they became Hawkwind Zoo, before shortening it to Hawkwind.
They famously played at the 1970 Isle of Wight festival but not on the official stage. Along with Pink Fairies they performed at Canvas City, outside the Festival perimeter.
Bass player Lemmy was with Hawkwind from 1971 to 1975. The band sacked him and he formed Motorhead.
Hawkwind had an ever-changing lineup, Dave Brock was the only constant band member.
In 1978 they became Hawklords but were back as Hawkwind by the end of the decade.
