A fight broke out at the headquarters of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during a Board of Trustees meeting in Abuja. The conflict is linked to the leadership struggle between Sunday Ude-Okoye and Samuel Anyanwu over the position of national secretary. A court ruling in December 2024 declared Ude-Okoye as the rightful secretary, but Anyanwu appealed, keeping the dispute unresolved. Supporters of Ude-Okoye forced their way into the venue, leading to a confrontation that required law enforcement intervention. Security has now been reinforced at the PDP headquarters.
