Yep, another boat anchor (as we Hams call them) This time a Johnson Viking II Ham transmitter. Shipping weight was around 75lbs! Packing was OK, however the transmitter did suffer some damage. Unfortunately, someone has been inside performing mods. My best plan of action is to gut out the audio section and start over. This has been a common task for about every Viking II that comes in. I enjoy working on the Viking II's. They are laid out neatly, components are easy to change. I have a good collection of Hanger queens, just in case a Johnson unique part is needed.
