
The original lineup consisted of Stephen Christian (lead vocals), Joseph Milligan (lead guitar), Deon Rexroat (bass), Nathan Young (drums), and Christian McAlhaney (rhythm guitar, joined later). Anberlin gained attention with their debut album Blueprints for the Black Market (2003), but it was their second album, Never Take Friendship Personal (2005), and third, Cities (2007), that brought them broader critical and commercial success.
Their 2008 release, New Surrender, featured the hit single "Feel Good Drag," which became a major radio success. Anberlin released several more albums, including Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place (2010) and Vital (2012), before announcing their breakup in 2014. They released a final album, Lowborn, as a farewell and embarked on a farewell tour.
