This, is the smartest picture in the world and at this rate it’s probably going to be the smartest picture forever. You won’t believe what these people have done so I’m making videos about them.
I know a lot of you have been waiting for this, today we’re going to talk about Walter Whi—, I mean Werner Heisenberg who won a Nobel prize at the age of 30.
Actually listen to the whole story and then tell me in the comments why do you think Walter White called himself Heisenberg in Breaking Bad? I’m actually not sure.

I’m gonna start with some of the science stuff first and then I’ll go into aaall the drama that Heisenberg was involved in, that’s the order that happened in real life too.

When he was 20 years old he met Niels Bohr and was really affected by him, at the age of 23 he was working with Bohr and he published his quantum mechanics paper.

He became Bohr’s assistant at the age of 24 in Copenhagen, Denmark, and a year later he came up with his Uncertainty Principle which tells us that we can’t know the exact position and momentum of quantum objects. (In hand)

Also you know how you can convert some materials like Iron into permanent magnets, well around the same year he solved the mystery of how it worked using Pauli’s exclusion principle, which I covered in my last video.

And then at the age of 27 Heisenberg and Pauli published their quantum field theory papers.

One thing you should know there are two groups fighting each other in this picture, there is the Berlin Camp which is basically the old guard and it consists of Schrodinger, Max Planck, Arnold Sommerfeld, and Albert Einstein.
And then there is the Coppenhagen View people which is Heisenberg, Pauli, Max Born, and Niels Bohr. Basically They’re arguing about Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle.

Ok so everyone is having fun they’re making advances in science, and then hitler comes along, and everything goes to kaka and gets political.

At first Hitler is against theoretical physics and wants to get rid of it and also the scientists involved with it, but Heisenberg puts in a lot of effort into persuading hitler to change his mind, he even gets his own mother to send letters to hitler’s number 2 guy.

Ultimately he succeeds but now he’s working for Hitler, who obvoiously isn’t searching for the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything he wants him to make weapons. And if you read all the stories for this period of time, it really feels like they brainwashed Heisenberg

But after the war ends stuff gets murky, Heisenberg says oh no I was stalling the military I didn’t plan on making anything that would hurt humanity, but there are records of him saying otherwise. now was he pretending back then because he was scared or is he pretending now when the war is over, the whole thing is very uncertain.
