Today, we have so many resources at our fingertips, from therapy to spiritual guidance to content online—but back then, I didn’t even have Instagram, let alone direction. What changed my life was finding a secure attachment in Allah ﷻ. That anchor is what got me through the worst of it. I realized that even when everything felt like it was falling apart, I could hold onto the certainty that “Allah’s got me.” That belief became the foundation of my healing and the heart of the books I’ve written, especially Reclaim Your Heart.
Later, I began developing healthier relationships with people too—Healing the Emptiness was born out of that next phase. I finally began to untangle my patterns, manage my thoughts, and build a healthier way of living—psychologically, socially, and spiritually. Healing is messy. It’s layered. And sometimes, it means confronting the ways we’ve projected our early experiences—like impossible-to-please parents—onto how we view Allah. But there’s a way through, and it doesn’t have to be as painful as mine was.
I hope this video helps you feel less alone, and gives you hope that healing is possible—starting from the inside out.
