Commercial buildings and industrial plants account for 50% of our nation’s primary energy use and cost about $400 billion annually to power/operate. The Better Buildings Challenge is aimed at achieving the goal of doubling American energy productivity by 2030 while motivating corporate and public-sector leaders across the country to save energy through commitments and investments. More than 285 organizations are partnering with the Energy Department to achieve 20 percent portfolio-wide energy savings and share successful strategies that maximize efficiency over the next decade. Across the country, partners have shared energy data for more than 32,000 properties and are reporting energy savings of 20 percent or more at 4,500 properties, and 10 percent or more at 12,000 properties.

All right. So, here’s the control room. All right. Brian, we’re going to need you to show us around a little bit. Get us familiar with the system so we can point our inquiry into the right area.
So, pulled up on the Home screen here, which is just showing what’s on by the green dots and anything that’s red is off
It’s all automated. So, we don’t have to do anything to do it.
But, it works pretty, pretty flawlessly.
Here’s the chiller plant. You know and the beauty of this system, too, is I can do everything from my phone. I can pull up this same thing and I can start an extra chiller or I can stop another chiller. I can, change the setting on a guest, on a meeting room fan; turn a fan off if I see it running.
Nice thing about that is–if your operator doesn’t have easy access to this stuff, they’re not going to do it and so they may see something that isn’t quite right, but, you know, “I don’t want to go downstairs and fix that.” With, with the phone app, it, it makes it easy
Being able to jump right on something, makes a huge difference.
Yeah, exactly.
I love the way you guys are putting new technology to work, like you are controlling the lighting with your smartphone.
