In the early hours of May 22nd , 2025,
A private Cessna 5 50 jet crashed into a residential neighborhood in San Diego, specifically in the Murphy Canyon area,
This Happened while the Jet was attempting to land at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport.

All six people on board the aircraft tragically lost their lives including Among those killed was Dave Shapiro, the co-founder of the Sound Talent Group who represented Sum 41and Daniel Williams,

the popular former drummer for metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, also Lost their lives.

The flight had departed from Teterboro, New Jersey, late on the evening of May 21st.

It made a scheduled refueling stop in Wichita, Kansas, before continuing on to San Diego.
At around 3:45 a.m. local time, the aircraft was on final approach to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport.

The pilot reported being approximately three miles from the airfield.
