In today’s episode, we explore fiber laser welding technology, which is gaining popularity in the metalworking industry. The fifth generation of Fanuci’s laser welding machines has just been released on the Polish market, so we decided to take a closer look at the welding process using the Fanuci 5.0 PRO GenX laser welder. To see it in action, we visited ‪@CNCMachineCenter‬.

Given that the most commonly welded materials in production facilities are mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, we’ll be testing this new welder on these materials.

This machine, with a power of up to 3.4 kW, allows for material penetration up to 7 mm in mild steel, 5 mm in stainless steel, and 4-5 mm in aluminum. Its intuitive programming simplifies operation, while water cooling ensures stable performance. We’ll start by welding mild steel, then move on to stainless steel and aluminum, highlighting the benefits of the high-temperature process. New models, such as the Fanuci 5.0 PRO Portable and the budget-friendly Fanuci 5.0 Compact, are also available. We’ll also try out the Fanuci Futura cleaning laser, which effectively cleans surfaces. The new 5.0 generation introduces additional features based on AI technology and the option for robot integration.
